- Political - a story about the U.S., or any other U.S. or world leaders and their policies
- Economic - a story having to do with the U.S. or international economy (this can include the current job market, the stock market, or any other economic factors)
- Social - a story about human rights, a popular "hot topic" issue, or anything else that impacts the daily lives of US or World citizens
- Miscellaneous - this can be any story that peaks your interest (this can include sports, entertainment, or any other story that you find interesting and that is school appropriate!)
